Parrot Dream

Never have I had the desire to own an exotic bird, but last night I dreamed I rescued one. Strangest thing.

I was walking home from work and I noticed that in a tree a Green Macaw had a string wrapped around it's let and a tree. I somehow climbed the tree and untangle the bird.  I carried it home to care for it. I had to contact someone I know that owns birds to help me with necessary items and how to clean it.

There are several things wrong with this. For one, I am scared of heights, and two, like I said above, I am not a bird person. I am not sure if a Green Macaw is a real bird breed.

I made flyers trying to find it's home and no one claimed it. I then became a bird owner and taught Tico to leave it alone. Go figure.

I guess this is better than dreaming about the library basement. I could have gone all my life without seeing it. My first basement excursion was on Monday and I had to go down there again yesterday. I just knew it would fuel a nightmare.

Airplane Dream

I had this dream a couple weeks ago that I witnessed an airplane fall out of the sky.  I was lazing about in my parents' house yard just sitting in the grass and enjoying the day.  Something that in Arkansas has not been possible in the last 2 months.  I was looking at the clouds listening to Joe talk about something.  The clouds had hole where the plane flew through them.  The plane started taking a nose dive.  I thought it was a training procedure.  It did not pull back up and then there was an explosion.

I remember in my dream saying to Joe, that plane just crashed!  We rushed to take pictures for the newspaper.  This is jumbled because Joe does not cover things in the town my parents live in and the place where we went was nothing I have ever seen.

It was a general store and no one seemed at all concerned over the plane or the people in it.  Seating was set up inside, I guess for a press conference of sorts.  I leaned over and asked a lady if it was a Henderson plane.  The answer was no.  Henderson has an aviation program.

I don't really know why this dream has hung on this long.  Even though it was a pure figment of my imagination it was still disturbing.

Dream and Christmas

Last night I dreamed that I finally got the courage to crack open one of my Blythes to customize her.  It was a bit strange. I had to wash her up with soap then unscrew her head and then wash her interior also (which I do not think is necessary unless you sand her face).  Magically, new eye chips were appearing for me to use.  I vaguely remember tools that I could carve her features with also. I found inside of her a second pull cord inside to make her have sleepy eyes or something.  I think my coworker was in the dream with me.  She customizes doll, just not Blythes.

Then my dream morphed.  The second dream was even more strange.  At least I was being productive in the first dream.

Christmas lists-

It is about time for me to start thinking about Christmas.  I am feeling pressure, but not enough to get me started on them.

Sister- yoga socks, 1 or 2 pairs, maybe a neckwarmer too?
Momma- selky change purse (inside joke)
Daddy- beer cozy? and friendly stash moth?
Brother-I-L- beer cozy and...
Brother- beer cozy and...
Husband-
Daughter- Penelope monster backpack, piggy slippers

From Danger Craft Etsy Shop

I wanted to make my husband, brother, and b-i-l all "stuffed" game.  I am sure a bit of explanation is require.  All three hunt and I thought it would be funny if I knitted deer heads and mounted them on a board.  To me, it would be hillarious.  To them, I don't know. I guess I could knit them something boring like hunting gloves. Either way, here are the patterns I have in mind:

Deer

Gloves

I am not sure if my dad would need a stash moth.  I am pretty sure he has wool sweater that it would be useful if I decide to do it.

The Penelope backpack, I have plans to alter the pattern just a bit.  I tried this once before but I have a new idea since then.  This time my idea will work.  I will probably use Jeanee Chunky in denim blue and a lilac.

The piggy slipper will be made from Polar Fleece in purple and a Polar Fleece pattern.  R's new favorite color is purple.

This topic will be updated in the future!

When I Dream of Houses

For about 2 years I dreamed of houses. I knew from Pyschology that this meant I had an undiscovered part of myself. I started this pattern really strongly in about 2003 when I was 19 or 20.

Houses predominated my dreams so much that I could not ignore them anymore. It was my junior semester at college (2004- I was 21). A lot was going on, my great-grandmother was dying, my grandmother has some unknown heart condition, and my grandfather had a stroke. It was the end of sememster which meant about 4 projects to be finished. On top of all that I was totally and utterly unhappy in my relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years.

I encouraged him to break up with me. I thought it would help his feelings if he felt like it was his choice. I point blank told him to break up with me.

I started dating someone else. Things got better in the majority. My great grandmother did pass away but she was in a lot of pain. It would not have been right for her to suffer anymore.

However, the dreams increased yet again to the point every dream I had was about a house.

Sometimes I was alone, sometimes I was with an odd mix of family members. The houses were almost always different. I did have one particular dream that seemed to repeat itself, but I never could remember the exact order of the last one. So, I was unsure if they were exact.

My dream was almost like the dream Harry Potter would have about the Department of Mysteries. I would come to a door in some, it even looked like the Riddle House. (I had not seen Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of Fire at this point. Order of the Phoenix book was not even released yet.) I never remember opening that door.

I took a summer course called Book Arts. We learn how to make all kinds of books. My favorite by far was altered books. It was terribly hard to tear up a perfectly good book, especially since I had worked at a library for 2 years! The class was only 2 week long and I had to start thinking about my final project at the end of the first week to have it finished by the end of the next!

I guess I had a quite influencing dream of a house and that became my final project. Oh, the project had to be a autobiography, also. I am going to share my final project really soon. I am going to try my best to take professional photos of it.

Here is probably the most bizarre part of the whole dream sequence. I quit dreaming of them as soon as I met a guy by the name of Joe at a frat party. I have not had the same type of dream every since October of 2004.

Who knew that 6 months later I would marry him. In a year, we had a tiny baby girl. He was not the one I was even dating after the break up.

My analasis of the whole situation:

I knew that I was unhappy. Subconsciously, I knew more of what I was looking for than I wanted to admit to myself. I quit dreaming of those houses because I found the part of myself that was missing and that was Joe. In fact, I vaguely remember having a dream where I opened the door.

I know that sounds very sappy and melodramatic but I have not dreamed of another damn house since then. It has been 5 years.
