Snowglobes, Denise, Chihuahuas and Finger Prints

Look at what I found today! I found these snowglobes at TJ Maxx for 10 bucks!

I just realized there was supposed to be a Ron one too. Damn.

I had a severe disappointment today- Michael's sucks. Their yarn selection was horrible. I am glad I have other options.

Good news, I finally got my Denise cable replacements in the mail. I ordered some chihuahua charms on Etsy (one for me and one for R) and they came today too! They are so tiny and cute! I am going to find a paw or disk to get Tico's name engraved for my charm bracelet. I have been trying to start R a bracelet too.

Have you ever thought about the fact that every time you ship a package and use packaging tape that you are giving that person your finger prints. Hmm...just a thought.

Pattern Making

Blah, I made two really cute things (in my opinion) this weekend. Now, I am trying to back track and figure out how I did it so I can make patterns. Blah. I can't share that the items are because they are going into my Reducio swap package. I have been having trouble recreating one thing. I have made 3 of them to get it just like the first. It isn't exact, but I think I am close enough that I can translate it to pattern.

This was just a quick post. I have to get ready- I am going to a new Michael's!

I am watching....I am pretty sure.....the real life story that the movie, Haunting in Connecticut is created from. When I watched the movie trailer I knew it had to be it! Probably scarier than the movie.

3. 2 hats for Heidi
4. start Hufflepuff scarf
5. rasta hat for Calvin

Muggle Plant- Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera

by Pandora Phelps

My favorite Muggle plant is Aloe Vera. It is a desert succulent plant that is suspected to originate in North Africa. Very little care or water (it must have hidden magic) is required. The plant has healing properties such as the juice inside the leaves cool a sun burn. It is added to other products to enhance moisture in the skin. The juice also helps treat more serious health problems like consumption and digestive issues.

Cosmic Creepers

Nothing really fabulous happened this weekend.

I made two more chihuahuas (I will have to post a photo later!).

I bought a Rebecca Danger's new pattern- it's a kitty! I haven't started yet, but it has a name, Cosmic Creepers. I watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks yesterday afternoon and it inspired the name.

As far as I know neither my woodcarving tool or my new Denise cables came in... :( . I am hoping today for both.

HSKS 8 Summer Camp is ending sometime this week. It was a lot of fun! I am really looking forward to HSKS 9 Quidditch Through the Ages!!! I am not sure how it will be set up this time but I am ready for it! I made sure that financially I can handle it. I would be in HLBOE 2, Reducio, and HSKS 9 at the same time. The good news is that I have already purchased HLBOE stuff and by the time HSKS 9 starts, I should be about finished with Reducio.

I actually need to send HLBOE soon. I am finished with everything but the thumbs of my gloves. Hopefully I can do that tonight or tomorrow.

On Reducio, I have to plan out my package. I have one item purchased. Obviously I have to wait on my partner info to make the sock. I am a bit disheartened about the other mini item I was making. It so far, has not worked. I am going to try a bit more before I trash the idea completely.

I am happy, in a way. I am going to be off of work all next week except for Wednesday (pre-planned workshop :( ). My daddy is getting his second knee replaced so in effect, I will be off with R. It is good, but bad. I know he is going to miserable for awhile. But good because in a short period of time he will be walking virtually pain free! His "non-operated" knee has worsened since the replacement of the other.

Well, I am heading to knit...YEA.

My wonderful spoiler Cassandra Goode made me the most perfect package! Lots and lots (as R would say) of yarn!!!!

Unfortunately I am short on photos storage so I only took one photo. It is really too bad because she send me the most beautiful earrings that I can not show off properly.

Here is what I got:

2 skeins of Queensland Collection Sugar Rush in Denim (so cool, it is Sugar Cane viscose

Susan Bates Sock point protector in Gryffindor Red!

Clover Takumi Bamboo Circular US 6 29"

Knit Picks Row Counter for a circular needle?

Go Crazy's "Let's Go to Camp" stitch markers

Gentle Lentel Solid Shampoo

Soft, blue crochet clutch! It is has a pretty blue lining!

AND the pretty earrings!

Thank you so much Cassie!!! I can't wait to get started on Nessie!

FYI I received the Care of Magical Creatures kit!

Damn Dog

I have had Tico since June 2008 and he had never once chewed up anthing until this weekend!!! I caught him with a toy frog and R caught him with a crayon yesterday. Today, I found one of my Denise Interchangeables chewed up! He just cost me 32.98!!! I had to replace the WHOLE set of extensions because of 2 pieces. GRRRR..... It was only 19 something, but since I am paying shipping I bought a continuous 40 inches to do magic loop. The connector piece seems to get caught on the yarn.

I am going tonight and buying him some long, skinny rawhides. He seems to be what he likes to attack. I thought about finding a squirrel plushy too.

I guess this is payback for getting him neutered. GRRRRR.......

HSKS8, Barbies, Ravelry, Hats, Mulan, Dogs and Turtles

I am excited to get my HSKS8 package soon. I am hoping it comes this week!

I have a almost clean house other than barbies everywhere. I so regret buying them. R doesn't even really play with them. She leaves them naked and throws them on the floor. So, our floor has naked women all of it. I am going to hide them.

I have updated a lot on my Ravelry this weekend. I had projects finished that I just hadn't photographed. I am starting on the 2 hats I have to get done by November. I have the 3 mostly finished.

Then on to a Hufflepuff scarf and a Rasta Hat. I think I will do those at the same time. I know I will get bored with the scarf.

I bought Mulan for R, I wasn't too impressed. I have a friends that told me that it basis of he story is pretty much a traditional Chinese story. I think that is really cool. They were weirded out that they had American accents and American dating ideals.

I want to make some Danger Craft-style dogs to sell, but I don't know if I can find the time. I was thinking about selling them and donating a portion to my local humane society. First I need to talk to Mrs. Danger about it.

I had to let my turtle I found go because I couldn't get him to eat. It is sad not hearing his shell click on my floor.

I guess that is it. I have to get to cracking on something.

Look at what I found on my porch

Some kind person dropped these items off on my porch! It was Hermione, Ron and Hedwig. A puzzle, playing cards and a few stickers! I found them in a bag with my name on it!

Skirts and Vest

So, I have decided that I should grow up and look professional. Yeah right. I am trying, but t-shirts and dress pants look good to me. Throw a cardigan over it and it looks perfect. I guess I am just a slob and nothing will change it.

I have purchase 3 skirts to give my legs some air in this heat. They look professional enough. I would post photos, but I can't find them on the Forever 21 website. They look more adult-like than some of the others. I found that all the medium-large sizes were gone. The sad thing is the smalls could fit a 10 year old.

I wanted to knit some vest, but that never even came close to happening.

Overall I don't know why I bother. I get up at 7:29 am and get dress by 7:40 am. No makeup, hair looks like crap, and then I walk the dog.

Speaking of dog...I found a little girl I want so bad. I am trying to figure out a way to talk my landlady (my mother) into it. Since my mom is the landlady, I have to be more strategic.

When I Dream of Houses

For about 2 years I dreamed of houses. I knew from Pyschology that this meant I had an undiscovered part of myself. I started this pattern really strongly in about 2003 when I was 19 or 20.

Houses predominated my dreams so much that I could not ignore them anymore. It was my junior semester at college (2004- I was 21). A lot was going on, my great-grandmother was dying, my grandmother has some unknown heart condition, and my grandfather had a stroke. It was the end of sememster which meant about 4 projects to be finished. On top of all that I was totally and utterly unhappy in my relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years.

I encouraged him to break up with me. I thought it would help his feelings if he felt like it was his choice. I point blank told him to break up with me.

I started dating someone else. Things got better in the majority. My great grandmother did pass away but she was in a lot of pain. It would not have been right for her to suffer anymore.

However, the dreams increased yet again to the point every dream I had was about a house.

Sometimes I was alone, sometimes I was with an odd mix of family members. The houses were almost always different. I did have one particular dream that seemed to repeat itself, but I never could remember the exact order of the last one. So, I was unsure if they were exact.

My dream was almost like the dream Harry Potter would have about the Department of Mysteries. I would come to a door in some, it even looked like the Riddle House. (I had not seen Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of Fire at this point. Order of the Phoenix book was not even released yet.) I never remember opening that door.

I took a summer course called Book Arts. We learn how to make all kinds of books. My favorite by far was altered books. It was terribly hard to tear up a perfectly good book, especially since I had worked at a library for 2 years! The class was only 2 week long and I had to start thinking about my final project at the end of the first week to have it finished by the end of the next!

I guess I had a quite influencing dream of a house and that became my final project. Oh, the project had to be a autobiography, also. I am going to share my final project really soon. I am going to try my best to take professional photos of it.

Here is probably the most bizarre part of the whole dream sequence. I quit dreaming of them as soon as I met a guy by the name of Joe at a frat party. I have not had the same type of dream every since October of 2004.

Who knew that 6 months later I would marry him. In a year, we had a tiny baby girl. He was not the one I was even dating after the break up.

My analasis of the whole situation:

I knew that I was unhappy. Subconsciously, I knew more of what I was looking for than I wanted to admit to myself. I quit dreaming of those houses because I found the part of myself that was missing and that was Joe. In fact, I vaguely remember having a dream where I opened the door.

I know that sounds very sappy and melodramatic but I have not dreamed of another damn house since then. It has been 5 years.

Photographs, Monsters, Pixie, and Wands

So, I have decided to print photos from my "hike" to a ghost town to display at my work. It is really hard making a choice which ones to use. Ah, decisions decisions.

I finally stitched up the Danger Craft's monster, Olivia. She is a pretty cute monster. WELL, mine was awful! I have no idea where it went wrong. It is crooked and twisty. I am starting over completely. R claimed the grotesque Oliva and seems to like her. I guess I will finish her face since she does have an owner now. When things don't work out I get really frustrated.

I am making a Pixie Hat of my own design for niece of a coworker. I didn't think she would like it because of the noticable decreasing, but fortunately, she loves it. I was getting very discouraged last night.

I attempted to make a wand cozy for my Charms class by crochet. I wasted 30 minutes. I finally gave up and knitted it. I really wonder why I bother crocheting. It is impossible for me.

Anywho. I guess I will go now.
